So? What d'ya think? This (with a few more tweaks to come this week) completes the first phase of some exciting changes coming to Coast to Coast Mom this year. A new logo, feminine fonts, fresh colors...it feels wonderful to have a new face for this site, and I'm excited to share it with the world today!
This new site design came about through my recent personal style revival, and - how else - two key social media contacts. The first, Nicole from MomTrends, inspired me to finally take action with some of her recent fabulous and trendy monthly events for bloggers in NYC. Simultaneously, I met Shari online from SpearmintBaby (and SpearmintWedding, SpearmintDecor and SpearmintKitchen too), and found out that she was updating her logos and page designs. She raved about how she enjoyed working with her designer, Jo Klima, so I looked up her site, The Darling Tree. My heart started beating faster as my pupils absorbed the lovely and clean designs in her portfolio. These were exactly the genre and style that I was looking for. Then I came across Jo's inspiring design blog, August Empress, too. I was a goner.
A heartfelt thank you to Jo for her professionalism, customer service and intuition. She's a rock star! She initially presented three design concepts to me and I was completely torn about which one to choose. The three concepts were distinctly different, but exactly what I wanted. I loved them. So much of what I blog about here is techie and business-y, and I wanted Coast to Coast Mom to reflect more of my style enveloping the heart of my content (yes, despite me being design-challenged), and I felt Jo helped to do that with this first phase of the blog "remodel."
Jo was responsive, and completed everything on time when she promised. Eventhough her speciality is WordPress, she was able to talk me through some of the HTML to make the changes to my Typepad blog. She was a joy to work with, and I'm ever so grateful for her help.
There's more to come . . . more design changes coming this fall . . . and I cannot wait to share it all with you! Thanks for visiting! Thanks for inspiring me! Thanks for making my day with your comments, tweets, emails and "likes." :-) Let me know what you'd like to read/hear/see more of from me.
Let's go have some fun. :-D
