I love summer and I love Christmas, so a week ago I was over the moon to celebrate Christmas in August with the Radio City Rockettes. I took Li'l Boo into NYC to see the gorgeous gals, and we had friends from Chicago visiting us with their daughter Li'l Boo's age and her younger brother, so I was super excited for them to experience the magic of visiting Radio City Music Hall as well!
It was Miss L's and Mr. C's first time in the city and we couldn't think of a better introduction than spending it immersed in the magic of the iconic Radio City and the Christmas Spectacular festivities in the heart of Manhattan. From Radio City we explored Rockefeller Center, visited the Lego Store, and walked to Times Square to bask in the big flashy lights and check out the Toys 'R Us Times Square store.
The lunch party at Radio City Music Hall kicked off the Radio City Rockettes 2010 season. We enjoyed a brief tour of the theater - caught a view of the theater from a private viewing booth up several flights of stairs, we checked out the costume storage area and walked down a hallway flanked with photos from the legendary holiday show. We also got a peek at the Roxy Suite, a private VIP reception room and apartment within Radio City.
We were even treated to Magnolia Cupcakes, and the kids had the opportunity to decorate their cupcakes as they wished.
While we were there, the MSG FanCam transformed into a KidsCam as they interviewed many of the children there about Santa Claus. according to the kids, Santa is about 16 years old. ;-)
My son is such a sucker for gorgeous gals, and he was predictably awed by the beautiful costumed ladies. After the lunch, we went outside to officially kick off the ticket sale season with none other than Santa Claus himself. The Rockettes performed out on the street for the crowd and the whole thing ended with snow falling on Sixth Ave...in August.
Tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular show are available now. Thank you to Madison Square Garden and the Radio City Rockettes for a fabulous experience, and for inviting us to participate in the launch. We all had a blast!
Here's my post from last year's Christmas Spectacular launch event. We used the photo taken last year on our Christmas cards :-)
