National Chip and Dip Day - March 23rd

Update your grocery list: National Chip and Dip day is TODAY, March 23rd! Yes, such a day exists! That I'm just finding out about a day to honor the classic snack combo seems preposterous. How have I not known about National Chip and Dip day? Me, who keeps packets of Lipton's onion soup mix in the pantry just so I have it ready to mix with sour cream for some French onion dip on a whim?

We enjoy snacking on chips and dip, and here's some of my favorite all-time favorite brands and combos:

Xochitl corn chips. I love, love, love, LOVE these! One of my favorite tortillas chips with salsa. Thin, light, crispy - and I buy the low-salt version! I usually buy them at Fairway or Whole Foods but just found them in bulk on Amazon. Dangerous.

Tostitos multigrain tortilla chips. So good they're addictive. My sister refers to them as crack chips. We like them dipped in queso or Jalepeno cheddar cheese. It's a bummer that they come in a smaller package than the other Tostitos corn chips as it could be totally possible to eat the entire bag in one sitting. (I think.)

Garden of Eatin blue corn tortilla chips. Thick, crunchy and sturdy enough for homemade guacamole. YUM!

The classic: Ruffles potato chips and French onion dip! A tradiitional party food, it's also a comfort snack for when I'm stressed and working in front of the TV at night. So, so hits the spot.

Not exactly a chip so to speak, I LOVE Pretzel Crisps flat pretzel chips. They're tasty dipped in hummus, or as we've discovered recently, smeared with whipped cream cheese. Mmmm...

Homemade cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips, or Stacy's cinnamon sugar pita chips with fruit salsa! It reminds me of summery bridal and baby showers. I'll have to post my own recipe to share soon. :-)

And then my favorite chip that doesn't need any dip. . . SunChips! The Kiddo and I eat these with sandwiches at least once a week. His favorite? The orange bag (Harvest Cheddar ;-) ).
