I don't usually write about beauty products, but I just picked one up this weekend that I can't help but sing the praises of: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres! This new YSL glossy lip stain worked miraculously for me the past two days.
On Sunday I used the #10 lip liner and applied the #10 gloss stain at 9:30 a.m. on our way into NYC for the Dylan's Candy Bar Easter egg hunt. I applied it once. In the morning. And I left a red kiss smack on the Kiddo's cheek that evening at 9 p.m. at bedtime. The lip stain stayed on through two meals, two snacks and drinking through two straws - nearly 12 hours!!!
I was FLOORED!! So was c2cDad. Everytime I've passed a mirror these past two days, I've pointed to my lips telling him, "My lips are still red! I haven't put the gloss on since this morning!" I can't rave enough about it.
What attracted me to YSL's new glossy lip stain first were the colors: pretty, trendy colors for the spring and summer. (I actually stopped by the YSL counter at Nordstrom to pick up a new faux cils mascara, when I was lured in.) I picked up the #9 (an orange-y red hue) and #10 (a more blueish/pinkish red hue) lip gloss stains for myself. Second, it's a gloss with full color coverage - so it's nice and light compared to this past winter's thick rich reds, yet provides the same bright colors. (Changing makeup for the seasons is all in the texture isn't it?) Third, it's a gloss! Perfect for sunshine and summer. Although the shiny, wet gloss effect faded off, the color remained. The fact that it worked phenomenally well as a lip stain was just the icing on the cake for me. Love, love, love it. (Plus, it looked great with the OPI Keys to My Karma on my nails this weekend. ;-) )
I bought my Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres at Nordstrom, and you can find the YSL glossy lip stain at Sephora too for about $32.
Special thanks to "Tuesday's Best of Beauty" blog link up with MomTrends for inspiring me to rave about my new favorite lip gloss stain today.
NICE!!! I love lip stain, but it often dries my lips out. (Well, the cheap stuff does ;-) This is definitely worth a try!

Totally worth a try! I know what you mean re: drying your lips out. This one hasn't dried mine yet, and it also hasn't gotten "sticky."
