I was recently invited to attend the illustrious "Lands' End University" to check out all that Lands' End has to offer for the Back to School (BTS) season. They pulled out all stops to get us in the back-to-school mindset. Educational yet exciting, interactive yet classy - everywhere we turned, there were opportunities to prepare for the upcoming school year - touching, trying on, tasting or even being treated to hair and make-up touch-ups for headshots.
The decor and space was set up like a school for us - complete with chalkboards, report cards and other little touches that I'm sure folks spent many hours putting together. It was beautiful.
We've only owned two so far, but we haven't yet gone wrong with a Lands' End backpack.
. . .and we learned a bit about how much weight each backpack can carry. These comparisons make me grateful for eLearning, the Internet, and mobile devices so that the Kiddo doesn't wind up carrying the weight of a tire on his back to and from school from a backpack of heavy books!
From backpacks, I turned to learning more about Lands' End denim and how they're working to extend the life of kids' jeans. I checked out their denim after 40 washes, and learned about how they're reinforcing the knees of their jeans.
We checked out the fall line of kids' clothes, and even had the opportunity to dress a mannequin and put together a "first day of school" outfit for our kids. We learned some healthy lunch and snack tips from Chef Sam Talbot and Happy Family, and saw the new MadBox lunch box from Lands' End, developed BY kids. It has a flexible divider that you can fill with ice packs to keep one side cold, and the other room temp. Love it!
After all of the kids' stuff, I checked out the womens fall line of clothes to get some ideas for school drop-off/pick-up and NYC meeting outfits. I love the comfortable, dressy-casualness of the fall line. The colors are rich yet autumnal. Made me yearn for fall, eventhough I'm such a summery gal. I think the vibrant colors made me realize that fall doesn't have to be all drab neutrals. (You know how I love COLOR!)
Thanks to Warren Tricomi, here's me . . . with sassy curls!
I savor every opportunity to hang out with Lori from WellConnectedMom - here's both of us with CURLS!
Ready for my close-up:
Voila! I told you I was a Type-A parent ;-)
After all of that, we were given a kids' backpack on our way out. :-D The Kiddo put it on right away, eventhough he was in his pj's ready for bed. I couldn't take a pic of him in his pj's, so he threw on a hoodie.
Such a fun event from MomTrends, Lands' End, Warren Tricomi, Happy Family, and Revlon! Thanks so much for sponsoring a terrific experience!
