When we visited Westchester County recently as part of the #MeetMeInWCNY program, we stayed at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, NY, located amidst 37 acres of lush woods, manicured grounds and trails. The hotel just completed a $35 million renovation project in July 2012, and you could tell that a lot of thought had been put into the rooms, entryway and central lobby area.
The new open lobby takes advantage of natural light, and the floor to ceiling windows bring some of the natural surroundings outdoors, inside. The natural decor with stones and tropical flowers seemed to echo the design and what I'm sure was a conscious effort to calm visitors and surround them with a bit of nature at every turn. While expansive and open, there were mindful spaces to work, socialize or just meet up throughout the space:
Here's the wooded view from my room . . .such a change from the concrete jungle! Can't you just imagine how this will look in a few short weeks when the whole area's bursting with fall colors?
The Kiddo visited to enjoy some pool time:
And these strawberries looked too sweet to not share . . . LOVE sweet surprises in the room:
Located about 30 minutes outside of New York City, a large busness conference wrapping up when we arrived, and a wedding party checking in with us for the weekend, but we never saw crowds or felt overlooked. It'd make a nice hotel to check out for a weekend getaway for some fresh air and nature time just outside of NYC, or a great place to stay as a family if you're spending a gorgeous fall or spring weekend in Westchester. Here's some more photos of my visit to the newly renovated Hilton Westchester.
