We arrived home from BlogHer to find DreamWorks Dragons Riders of Berk Part 1 & Part 2 on our doorstep. We were eagerly awaiting its arrival before we left (to enjoy on our trip to Michigan and Chicago), but alas, it made the Kiddo jump up and down when we got it today upon our return! :-D
Dragons Riders of Berk animated series on Cartoon Network is based on the movie How To Train Your Dragon, and is intended to help bridge the gap between the sequel, How To Train Your Dragon 2 which arrives in theaters June 20, 2014. We're already looking forward to its release!
The Dragons Riders of Berk Part 1 two-disc set includes 11 episodes of the series; while the two-disc Part 2 set includes 9 episodes. We invited one of the Kiddo's dragon-loving friends over to watch Part 1 this afternoon while I watched from the dining room as I dove back into my writing editorial calendar.
The Riders of Berk series picks up right where the movie How to Train your Dragon ends. Hiccup, his father and friends organize the Berk Dragon Academy to help learn about dragons and help the Vikings and dragons learn ot live togetheri n harmony. Most of the voice actors are back - with Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera returning as Hiccup and Astrid.
The DVDs unlock exclusive content in DreamWorks "School of Dragons" online game from JumpStart also based on the How to Train Your Dragon movie. Each DVD includes a code to unlock a free battle pack to use in the game.
This DVD set is a great extension of the movie - the writing is witty, the voices familiar, the music sounds the same, and the animation for the series looks just like the movie. If you have a How To Train Your Dragon fan in your home, this would be a great DVD set for a rainy day or while traveling.
I'm giving away the Riders of Berk DVD set - enter to win here!
