Mr. Peabody and Sherman Movie Press Day with Ty Burrell, Max Charles and Rob Minkoff

I was thrilled to join a recent press day junket in NYC for the Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie, hosted by Dreamworks Animation and 20th Century Fox.

I had already seen select scenes last fall and had the opportunity to speak with Ty Burrell about his role voicing Mr. Peabody at that time. I wasn't familiar with Mr. Peabody and Sherman, so I got caught up to speed pretty quickly then. C2cDad knew and had seen the shorts when his parents shared them with him when he was a kid. My parents remembered the animated shorts too and immediately thought that Ty Burrell would make a great Mr. Peabody. :-)

The idea to make the movie came about nearly 12 years ago, according to Rob Minkoff, the director of Mr. Peabody and Sherman, who also directed The Lion King and Stuart Little. A producer, Jason Clark, asked him what he thought of the Peabod and Sherman shorts and the idea of developing them into a movie. They took the idea to DreamWorks Animation in 2005, had a green-lit script in 2011, and here we are today as the movie opens in theaters. :-)
